Ontotext takes part in research projects with a total current budget of more than 100 million EURO. Ontotext is the most successful Bulgarian participant in EU research projects in FP5, FP6, FP7 and was distinguished with the prestigious Pitagoras award.
Ontotext currently participates in the following European research projects:
- CUBIST - Combining and Uniting Business Intelligence and Semantic Technologies - combines essential features of Semantic Technologies and Business Intelligence
- INSEMTIVES - Incentives for Semantics - incentive models and framework for semantic metadata and content authoring
- Khresmoi - Knowledge Helper for Medical and Other Information users - to build a multi-lingual multi-modal search and access system for biomedical information and documents
- MOLTO - Multilingual Online Translation - developing tools for translating texts between multiple languages in real time with high quality
- NoTube - Networks and ontologies for the transformation and unification of broadcasting and the Internet - semantic technologies for personalized creation, distribution and consumption of TV content
- RENDER - Reflecting Knowledge Diversity - developing methods, techniques, software and data sets that will leverage diversity as a crucial source of innovation and creativity
- TrendMiner - Large-scale, Cross-lingual Trend Mining and Summarisation of Real-time Media Streams, with application to financial decision support and political analysis and monitoring
Ontotext has completed a number of projects that had a great impact on the present state of the Semantic Web.

Recently completed projects include:
- LarKC - The Large Knowledge Collider: a platform for large scale integrated reasoning and Web-search - the platform will be achieved by enriching the current logic-based Semantic Web reasoning methods, employing cognitively inspired approaches and techniques.
- SOA4ALL - Service Oriented Architectures for All - combines a service delivery platform based on Web 2.0, Semantics and Context Management to enable a Web of billions of services
