Your Role

You will play a crucial role in optimizing sales and marketing processes to support higher sales effectiveness, greater return on marketing investment, and efficient internal processes.

This multifaceted position will report to the Head of Finance and will also have a dotted reporting line into the Chief Commercial Officer.

Operating within a cross-functional environment, the ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a proven track record of driving operational excellence, a keen interest in sales and marketing, and strong communication and presentation skills.

An effective Sales Operations Manager at Ontotext should have prior experience working in the tech industry and in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment where effective organizational, collaboration and execution skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to streamline and improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze sales and marketing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance) to maintain data rules, data quality and governance in the CRM system.
  • Utilize analytical skills to assess and enhance sales performance metrics (e.g. pipeline development, conversion rates, lifetime value (LTV) and customer acquisition costs (CAC)), as well as marketing spend efficiency/ effectiveness.
  • Build MI and Analytics suite (for sales and marketing KPIs), including standardized lag/ lead indicators, that can scale across verticals, regions, channels, team members, etc.
  • Support the Management team in generating reports (regular and ad-hoc) to provide insights and guide decision making.
  • Support the generation of sales forecasts, sales performance reviews against targets (at team and individual level), and the calculation of sales commissions.
  • Take part in new Sales & Marketing team member onboarding and support those teams with continuous education activities focused on sales/ marketing efficiency, goals and metrics.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, psychology, organizational development, marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales operations, business operations, or a related field sufficient to successfully perform the primary responsibilities listed, ideally gained in the tech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and LinkedIn functionality.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formatting, sorting; functions/ formulas (vlookup, index match, sumifs, etc.); pivot tables, visual charts, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Power Point/ Word and similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects under pressure.
  • Demonstrated competence in detail orientation, strong follow-through, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exchanges feedback that improves performance and builds trust.
