It is sponsored by the Open Data Institute (ODI) an international organization that advocates for the Open Data culture to create economic, environmental and social value.
The ODI was founded by Sirs Tim Berners-Lee and Nigel Shadbolt. Berners-Lee is widely known as the inventor of the World Wide Web, while Shadbolt is considered a pioneer in the area of artificial intelligence.

Before becoming Head of Consulting Services & Innovation at Ontotext, Georgi Georgiev lead the Text Analysis Product Development and managed the semantic publishing solutions for organizations such as the BBC, the PressAssociation, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (the IET).
Ilian Uzunov is Director of Business Development for EMEAA. He has spent more than 15 years improving the fields of publishing, education, e-learning, management and presentation of cultural heritage with semantic technology.
