Back in September 2014 we announced the Firefox add-on that provided access to S4 text analytics services directly from the browser. The plugin allows for easy and quick testing of the various text analysis pipelines on the platform, without the need to write any code.
We are happy to announce the availability of the Chrome extension for S4 which makes it easy to test the S4 pipelines from the Chrome browser too.
The Chrome extension for S4 is available via the Chrome Web Store. The source code is also available from the S4 GitHub repository, under an open source Apache license.
After the Chrome extension is installed, the user should just specify the private API key/secret pair and the specific S4 text analytics service to be used for annotating the web pages. After the configuration is complete it’s easy to select a snippet of text on the web page and annotate it with S4 via the context menu. After the page is annotated, a small pop-up window will summarize the entities extracted from the web page: people, locations, organizations, etc.
