The HEREDITARY project consortium of 18 partners from 10 European countries and 1 partner from the USA met in Padua, Italy, for an official kick-off meeting between the 25th and the 26th of January 2024. It’s headed by one of the oldest universities in the world with more than 800 years of history – the University of Padua, Italy. The consortium comprises clinical partners, universities, research organizations, IT companies, genomic centers, patient organizations, the European Brain Council, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, and others.
HEREDITARY aims to create a multimodal platform based on federated learning that will enable in-depth investigation of the gut-brain connection and will help to improve Healthcare for diagnostics and effective treatment of related diseases and a better understanding of risk factors for their prevention.
HEREDITARY is harmonizing and linking various sources of electronic health records, genomic data, medical imaging, bio-signals, laboratory and diagnostic tests, pathogen data, public health registers, and environmental data on a large scale. This enables clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to understand these diseases better and develop more effective treatment strategies.
Ontotext will employ its experience in the enrichment of knowledge graphs with new knowledge through knowledge graph embeddings and evidence-based knowledge graph creation and exploration, developing advanced self-supervised learning and multimodal learning methods.
We are looking forward to sharing more information as the project evolves!
