The consortium of 21 European partners met in Prague, Czech Republic for an official kick-off meeting between the 22nd and 24th of November 2022. Headed by the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (ÚZIS CR), the consortium comprises hospitals, universities, IT companies, law firms, the World Stroke Organization and others.
RES-Q+ will exceed the scope of RES-Q (REgistry of Stroke Care Quality) by capturing information along the entire patient pathway – in-hospital and post discharge care. It will provide healthcare workers with tools for automated ingestion of information in hospital discharge reports in a range of European languages. Patients and physicians are to both benefit from two novel AI voice assistants – one for patients to provide feedback on their health and the other for physicians to improve the quality of their care.
In the course of RES-Q+ project Sirma AI, trading as Ontotext, will lead the work on ensuring internal and external semantic interoperability based on W3C standards and data re-use with other patient registry systems through data FAIRification.
Ontotext will also employ its experience in text analytics and content enrichment to contribute towards automation of information extraction from hospital discharge reports. The solution will also provide machine translation of such reports from multiple European languages to English.
Last, but not least, Ontotext will aid the effort in establishing a European Open Stroke Data Platform that aims to integrate all developed tools into a common open platform.
We are looking forward to sharing more information as the project evolves!
