IOS Press, publishers of The Semantic Web Journal, looked at all papers that it has published over its 5 year history to determine which papers are the most cited. Utilizing Google Scholar they identified the 10 most cited papers within the collection. In addition, realizing that papers which have been published for a longer period of time will potentially be cite more often, they also identified the top 10 papers based on citations per year. Ontotext’s paper OWLIM: A family of scalable semantic repositories was ranked high on both lists, coming in at number two on the top 10 of all time and number three on the top 10 per year. The paper co-authored by Barry Bishop, Atanas Kiryakov, Damyan Ognyanoff, Ivan Peikov, Zdravko Tashev, and Ruslan Velkov has been cited over 150 times according to Google Scholar.
The Semantic Web Journal itself, has proven to be quite prestigious as it was ranked 18th world-wide among all computer science related journals according to SCImago.
