London, UK – 28 October 2015: The Ontotext team will be participating in this year’s ODI Summit, taking place at London’s BFI Southbank on 3 November 2015. The ODI Summit is an annual event that focuses on innovation and excellence in Open Data around the world. It is sponsored by the Open Data Institute (ODI) an international organization that advocates for the Open Data culture to create economic, environmental and social value.
The ODI and its namesake summit was founded by Sirs Tim Berners-Lee and Nigel Shadbolt. Berners-Lee is widely known as the inventor of the World Wide Web and Shadbolt is considered a pioneer in the area of artificial intelligence.
Ontotext has been a member and Supporter of the ODI since the organization was founded. As a strong proponent of Open Data and its ability to compliment proprietary data sources, Ontotext has participated in numerous Open Data projects. GraphDB™, the RDF graph database developed by Ontotext, supports the loading of Linked Open Data sets to create broad applications for media & publishing, life sciences & healthcare and other verticals such as financial services.
Several executives from Ontotext will be in attendance at the summit including Milena Yankova, head of global marketing, and Dr. Jarred McGinnis, UK managing consultant for Ontotext.
