ESSLLI takes place in a different European country every year under the auspices of the Association for Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI). FoLLI was established in 1991 to advance research and education on the interfaces between Logic, Linguistics, Computer Science and Cognitive Science and their related disciplines.
In the past five years, ESSLLI was held in Toulouse, France (2017), Bolzano, Italy (2016), Barcelona, Spain (2015), Tübingen, Germany (2014) and Düsseldorf, Germany (2013).
ESSLLI 2018 will be jointly hosted by the Sofia University ‘St. Kl. Ohridski’ and the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT-BAS). The Association for Computational Linguistics, Bulgaria, also supports the organization of this year’s event. ESSLLI 2018 will be held under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia Municipality, Yordanka Fandakova.
Alongside the platinum sponsorship at this upcoming event, Ontotext will support research, innovation and education by sponsoring two national school teams who have been representing Bulgaria at international science olympics events: the computational linguistics team and the school of robotics team.
