Ontotext will hold two presentations and a tutorial at the SEMANTiCS 2017 conference, which will take place in Amsterdam on September 11-14, to show how semantic technology creates links between various datasets and leads to knowledge discovery.
Ontotext is a sponsor of this year’s 13th International Conference on Semantic Systems SEMANTiCS 2017, in which it has been participating for several consecutive years. At the 2017 event, Ontotext will showcase how an EU project is developing a highly-interconnected graph of Europe-wide company-related information and how publishers use semantic technology to manage their quality content.
During the Data Science session on the morning of September 13th, Atanas Kiryakov, CEO of Ontotext and Plamen Tarkalanov, Semantic Data Integration Consultant, will be talking about Ontotext’s role in the euBusinessGraph initiative. Their presentation: “euBusinessGraph Company and Economic Data for Innovative Products and Services” will focus on Ontotext’s contribution to the EU-funded project that runs between January 1, 2017 and June 30, 2019. euBusinessGraph’s goal is to create a platform that integrates, harmonizes and publishes data related to European companies in order to improve company and public sector efficiency and competitiveness. Ontotext has a key part in developing, running and hosting the euBusinessGraph Marketplace and Services, and contributes to ontology engineering and semantic data modeling.
In the afternoon of September 13th, Ivelina Nikolova, PhD and Senior NLP Engineer at Ontotext will be presenting: “Building a High Quality Semantic Graph for Linked Science”. This will showcase Ontotext’s role in Springer Nature’s SciGraph project, which uses Linked Open Data (LOD) to create a rich database for scientists. Earlier this year, scientific publisher Springer Nature picked Ontotext’s semantic graph database GraphDB™ to power its new LOD platform, aggregating data sources from Springer Nature and key partners from the scholarly domain. SN SciGraph, which is projected to contain 1.5 to 2 billion triples, relies on GraphDB’s impressive ability to handle massive load, querying and inferencing in real time.
Ontotext’s participation in SEMANTiCS 2017 will continue on September 14th with the tutorial “Linking Diverse Data Sources, Robust Text Analysis and Semantic Search” held by Ms Nikolova and Mr Tarkalanov. The tutorial will be a practical demonstration of data transformation, data modelling, automated knowledge discovery and interlinking with LOD.
